ID 1.3.8.6 DE glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenase (ETF). AN glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenase. CA glutaryl-CoA + 2 H(+) + oxidized [electron-transfer flavoprotein] = (2E)- CA butenoyl-CoA + CO2 + reduced [electron-transfer flavoprotein]. CC -!- The enzyme catalyzes the oxidation of glutaryl-CoA to glutaconyl-CoA CC (which remains bound to the enzyme), and the decarboxylation of the CC latter to crotonyl-CoA (cf. EC 7.2.4.5). CC -!- FAD is the electron acceptor in the oxidation of the substrate, CC and its reoxidation by electron-transfer flavoprotein completes the CC catalytic cycle. CC -!- The anaerobic, sulfate-reducing bacterium Desulfococcus multivorans CC contains two glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenases: a decarboxylating enzyme CC (this entry), and a non-decarboxylating enzyme that only catalyzes CC the oxidation to glutaconyl-CoA (EC 1.3.99.32). CC -!- Formerly EC 1.3.99.7. DR Q2KHZ9, GCDH_BOVIN ; Q20772, GCDH_CAEEL ; Q54R47, GCDH_DICDI ; DR Q92947, GCDH_HUMAN ; Q8HXX8, GCDH_MACFA ; Q60759, GCDH_MOUSE ; DR P81140, GCDH_PIG ; //
