ENZYME entry: EC 1.5.1.39
| Accepted Name |
| FMN reductase (NAD(P)H).
|
| Reaction catalysed |
| FMNH(2) + NAD(P)(+) <=> FMN + NAD(P)H |
| Cofactor(s) |
| FMN.
|
| Comment(s) |
- The enzyme can utilize NADH and NADPH with similar reaction rates.
- Different from EC 1.5.1.42 and EC 1.5.1.38.
- The luminescent bacterium Vibrio harveyi possesses all three enzymes,
while the bacterium Aliivibrio fischeri contains only this non-
specific type.
