- The activity of the liver cytosol enzyme is highest with acetyl
esters of aryl alcohols, and thioesters are also hydrolyzed.
- The microsomal enzyme also hydrolyzes some other negatively charged
esters.
- Best substrates were esters of salicylate with long-chain alcohols.
