ENZYME entry: EC 1.14.13.33
Accepted Name |
4-hydroxybenzoate 3-monooxygenase [NAD(P)H].
|
Alternative Name(s) |
4-hydroxybenzoate 3-hydroxylase. |
Reaction catalysed |
- 4-hydroxybenzoate + H(+) + NADH + O2 <=> 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate + H2O + NAD(+)
- 4-hydroxybenzoate + H(+) + NADPH + O2 <=> 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate + H2O + NADP(+)
|
Comment(s) |
- The enzyme from Corynebacterium cyclohexanicum is highly specific for
4-hydroxybenzoate, but uses NADH and NADPH at approximately equal
rates (cf. EC 1.14.13.2).
- It is less specific for NADPH than EC 1.14.13.2.
