ENZYME entry: EC 1.18.1.4
Accepted Name |
rubredoxin--NAD(P)(+) reductase.
|
Alternative Name(s) |
dinucleotide phosphate reductase. |
NAD(P)H-rubredoxin oxidoreductase. |
NAD(P)-rubredoxin oxidoreductase. |
rubredoxin-nicotinamide adenine. |
rubredoxin-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (phosphate) reductase. |
Reaction catalysed |
- H(+) + NADP(+) + 2 reduced [rubredoxin] <=> NADPH + 2 oxidized [rubredoxin]
- H(+) + NAD(+) + 2 reduced [rubredoxin] <=> NADH + 2 oxidized [rubredoxin]
|
Comment(s) |
- The enzyme reduces a number of electron carriers, including benzyl
viologen, menadione and 2,6-dichloroindophenol, but rubredoxin is the
most efficient.
- Ferredoxin is not utilized.
