ENZYME entry: EC 1.3.1.119
Accepted Name |
Chlorobenzene dihydrodiol dehydrogenase.
|
Reaction catalysed |
(1R,2R)-3-chlorocyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,2-diol + NAD(+) <=> 3-chlorocatechol + NADH |
Comment(s) |
- This bacterial enzyme can transform various dihydrodiols of
chlorobenzenes into the respective catechols, including the
dihydrodiols of mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra-chlorinated benzenes.
- It also accepts the dihydrodiols of various chlorotoluenes.
- Substrates for the enzyme are generated by the broad spectrum
