ID 2.3.1.305 DE acyl-[acyl-carrier protein]--UDP-2-acetamido-3-amino-2,3-dideoxy-alpha-D- DE glucopyranose N-acyltransferase. CA a (3R)-hydroxyacyl-[ACP] + UDP-2-acetamido-3-amino-2,3-dideoxy-alpha-D- CA glucopyranose = a UDP-2-acetamido-3-{[(3R)-3-hydroxyacyl]amino}-2,3- CA dideoxy-alpha-D-glucopyranose + H(+) + holo-[ACP]. CC -!- The enzyme is found in bacterial species whose lipid A contains 2,3- CC diamino-2,3-dideoxy-D-glucopyranose. CC -!- Some enzymes, such as that from Leptospira interrogans, are highly CC specific for 2,3-diamino-2,3-dideoxy-D-glucopyranose, while others, CC such as the enzyme from Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, are also able CC to accept UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine (cf. EC 2.3.1.129). CC -!- The enzymes from different organisms also differ in their specificity CC for the acyl donor. The enzyme from L. interrogans is highly specific CC for (3R)-3-hydroxydodecanoyl-[acyl-carrier protein], while that from CC Mesorhizobium loti functions almost equally well with 10-, 12-, CC and 14-carbon 3-hydroxyacyl-[acyl-carrier protein]s. //
