1->6-acetylglucosaminyltransferase. |
Reaction catalysed |
UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine + beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->2)-(beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->4))-alpha-D-Man-(1->3)-(beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->2)-alpha-D-Man-(1->6))-beta-D-Man-(1->4)-beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->4)-beta-D-GlcNAc-N-Asn-[protein] <=> UDP + beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->2)-(beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->4))-alpha-D-Man-(1->3)-[beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->2)-(beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->6))-alpha-D-Man-(1->6)]-beta-D-Man-(1->4)-beta-D-GlcNAc-(1->4)-beta-D-GlcNAc-N-Asn-[protein] |
Comment(s) |
- The enzyme, found in vertebrates, participates in the processing of
N-glycans in the Golgi apparatus.
- It catalyzes the addition of N-acetylglucosamine in beta 1-6 linkage
to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linked oligosaccharides,
and thus enables the synthesis of tri- and tetra-antennary complexes.
