  • The enzyme from Clostridium phytofermentans is also active toward toward beta-D-galactosyl derivatives of L-mannose, L-lyxose, D-glucose, 2-deoxy-D-glucose, and D-galactose in this order.
  • Differs from 1,3-beta-galactosyl-N-acetylhexosamine phosphorylase (EC 2.4.1.211) in being active toward L-rhamnose and inactive toward N-acetyl hexosamine derivatives.
