ID 2.7.11.37 DE MAST-subfamily kinase. AN microtubule-associated serine/threonine-protein kinase. CA (1) L-seryl-[protein] + ATP = O-phospho-L-seryl-[protein] + ADP + H(+). CA (2) L-threonyl-[protein] + ATP = O-phospho-L-threonyl-[protein] + ADP + CA H(+). CC -!- MAST (Microtubule Associated Serine/Threonine) kinases are CC eukaryotic-wide kinases with roles in microtubule function, PTEN CC regulation and a variety of neuronal functions. CC -!- They are found in most eukaryotes, though lost from most fungi and CC ciliates. CC -!- MAST kinases associate with their substrates via their PDZ domains. CC -!- Substrates include EC 3.1.3.67 in human and nematodes, and Dlic CC (Dynein light intermediate chain) in Drosophila. The latter is CC phosphorylated on Ser(401). //
