CA   (1) phenylsuccinate + succinyl-CoA = 2-phenylsuccinyl-CoA + succinate.
CA   (2) phenylsuccinate + succinyl-CoA = 3-phenylsuccinyl-CoA + succinate.
CC   -!- The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Aromatoleum aromaticum,
CC       is involved in degradation of (indol-3-yl)acetate, where it is
CC       believed to function on (2-aminophenyl)succinate.
CC   -!- It has a broad substrate specificity toward other C-4 dicarboxylic
CC       acids, phenylacetate, and the non-physiological compound
CC       2-naphthylacetate.
CC   -!- The enzyme produces 2- and 3-phenylsuccinyl-CoA in equimolar amounts.
