A new class EC 7, Translocases, has been added to the EC list. It will be part of ENZYME from release 2018_10. Read more about EC 7 here.
ENZYME entry: EC 3.2.1.106
Accepted Name |
Mannosyl-oligosaccharide glucosidase.
|
Alternative Name(s) |
Glc3Man9NAc(2) oligosaccharide glucosidase. |
Processing A-glucosidase I. |
Reaction catalysed |
Glc(3)Man(9)GlcNAc(2)-[protein] + H(2)O <=> Glc(2)Man(9)GlcNAc(2)-[protein] + beta-D-glucopyranose |
Comment(s) |
- This enzyme catalyzes the first step in the processing of the
N-glycan tetradecasaccharide precursor Glc(3)Man(9)GlcNAc(2), which
takes place in the endoplasmic reticulum, by removing the distal
alpha-1,2-linked glucose residue.
- This and subsequent processing steps are required before complex
N-glycans can be synthesized.
