CA   The enzyme preferentially hydrolyzes peptides having an Ala or Pro
CA   residue at P2 position and prefers such charged amino acid residues as
CA   Glu or Arg at the P2' position. In the oxidized insulin B chain,
CA   kumamolysin preferentially cleaves between Leu(15) and Tyr(16).
CC   -!- This bacterial pepstatin-insensitive carboxyl proteinase has been
CC       isolated and characterized from Bacillus sp. MN-32 and from several
CC       Burkholderia spp.
CC   -!- Kumamolysin from Bacillus sp. MN-32 exhibits a
CC       Ser(278)/Glu(78)/Asp(82) catalytic triad.
