CC   -!- The enzyme catalyzes the first step in the degradation of several
CC       carbamate insecticides such as carbaryl, carbofuran, isoprocarb,
CC       propoxur, aldicarb and oxamyl.
CC   -!- It catalyzes the cleavage of the ester bond to release
CC       N-methylcarbamate, which spontaneously hydrolyzes to methylamine and
CC       CO2.
CC   -!- The enzymes from several Gram-negative bacteria were shown to be
CC       located in the periplasm.
