  • This enzyme, found in plants and fungi, couples the energy from diphosphate hydrolysis to active proton translocation across the tonoplast into the vacuole.
  • The enzyme acts cooperatively with cytosolic soluble diphosphatases to regulate the cytosolic diphosphate level.
