A new class EC 7, Translocases, has been added to the EC list. It will be part of ENZYME from release 2018_10. Read more about EC 7 here.

ENZYME entry: EC 4.2.2.9

Accepted Name
Pectate disaccharide-lyase.
Alternative Name(s)
Exo-PATE.
Exo-PGL.
Exopectate lyase.
Exopectic acid transeliminase.
Exopolygalacturonate lyase.
Exopolygalacturonic acid-trans-eliminase.
PATE.
Pectate exo-lyase.
Reaction catalysed
((1->4)-alpha-D-galacturonosyl)(n) <=> ((1->4)-alpha-D-galacturonosyl)(n-2) + 4-(4-deoxy-alpha-D-galact-4-enuronosyl)-D-galacturonate
Comment(s)
The enzyme catalyzes the eliminative cleavage of an unsaturated disaccharide from the reducing end of homogalacturonan (the backbone of smooth regions of pectate, also known as de-esterified pectin).
