ENZYME entry: EC 4.2.3.102
Accepted Name |
Sesquithujene synthase.
|
Alternative Name(s) |
TPS5-del1. |
Reaction catalysed |
(2E,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate <=> sesquithujene + diphosphate |
Cofactor(s) |
Mn(2+) or Mg(2+).
|
Comment(s) |
- The enzyme from Zea mays, variety Delprim, gives mainly sesquithujene
with (S)-beta-bisabolene and (E)-beta-farnesene plus traces of other
sesquiterpenoids, cf. EC 4.2.3.55 and EC 4.2.3.47.
