ENZYME entry: EC 5.3.2.8
Accepted Name |
4-oxalomesaconate tautomerase.
|
Reaction catalysed |
(1E)-4-oxobut-1-ene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate <=> (1E,3E)-4-hydroxybuta-1,3-diene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate |
Comment(s) |
- This enzyme has been characterized from the bacterium Pseudomonas
putida KT2440 and is involved in the degradation pathway of syringate
and gallate.
- It catalyzes the interconversion of two of the tautomers of
4-oxalomesaconate, a reaction that can also occur spontaneously.
- Formerly EC 5.3.3.16.
