ENZYME entry: EC 3.1.1.55
Accepted Name |
Acetylsalicylate deacetylase.
|
Alternative Name(s) |
Aspirin esterase. |
Reaction catalysed |
Acetylsalicylate + H(2)O <=> salicylate + acetate |
Comment(s) |
- Not identical with EC 3.1.1.1, EC 3.1.1.2, EC 3.1.1.7 or EC 3.1.1.8.
- The activity of the liver cytosol enzyme is highest with acetyl
