ENZYME entry: EC 4.99.1.11
Accepted Name |
Sirohydrochlorin nickelchelatase.
|
Reaction catalysed |
Ni-sirohydrochlorin + 2 H(+) <=> sirohydrochlorin + Ni(2+) |
Comment(s) |
- The enzyme, studied from the methanogenic archaeon Methanosarcina
acetivorans, participates in the biosynthesis of the nickel-
containing tetrapyrrole cofactor coenzyme F(430), which is required
by EC 2.8.4.1.
- It catalyzes the insertion of the nickel ion into sirohydrochlorin.
